Can therapy wash away the invisible stains of trauma?
NCT ID NCT04585685
Summary
This study is testing two different talk therapies to help people who have PTSD after sexual assault. It aims to see if therapy can reduce PTSD symptoms and the distressing feeling of being mentally 'dirty' or contaminated, even without physical contact. The study will compare a well-established 12-session therapy (Cognitive Processing Therapy) with a shorter 6-session therapy focused on self-compassion.
