New hope for veterans haunted by war: special therapy targets moral wounds

NCT ID NCT03764033

Summary

This study tested a new talk therapy called 'Impact of Killing' (IOK) designed for veterans with PTSD related to moral injury from wartime experiences. It compared IOK to a standard supportive therapy to see which better improved veterans' daily functioning and reduced PTSD symptoms. The goal was to see if this targeted approach could help veterans who still struggled after completing standard PTSD treatments.
