Scientists hunt for the Brain's 'Love Hormone' clue in psychedelic depression treatment

NCT ID NCT07345858

Summary

This study is trying to find a simple biological signal that can predict who will benefit most from psychedelic-assisted therapy for hard-to-treat depression. Researchers will measure levels of oxytocin, sometimes called the 'love hormone,' in the saliva of 80 participants during their treatment sessions. They want to see if changes in this hormone are linked to improvements in mood and mental flexibility.
