First seen Jan 30, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looked at whether adding metformin, a common diabetes drug, to cyclosporine works better than cyclosporine alone for treating psoriasis. Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition that causes red, scaly patches. The study involved 32 adults with moderate to severe psoriasis. Researchers measured changes in skin severity, body surface area affected, and quality of life to see if the combination improved outcomes.
