NCT ID NCT06814522
First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated Apr 09, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This early-stage study is testing whether psilocybin-assisted therapy can help reduce burnout in physicians. Researchers at UC San Diego will give a small group of 10 burned-out doctors psilocybin (the active compound in 'magic mushrooms') alongside psychological support sessions. The main goals are to check if this approach is safe and practical, and to see if it shows early signs of improving doctors' well-being and reducing burnout symptoms.
