First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests whether a single dose of psilocybin (the active ingredient in magic mushrooms) combined with talk therapy is safe and can reduce depression and substance use in veterans and first responders who haven't responded to standard treatments. Fifty participants will receive one of three doses (5mg, 10mg, or 25mg) along with seven therapy sessions over 14 weeks. The goal is to ease symptoms and understand how the brain changes.
