Magic mushroom microdoses tested as breakthrough for depression that Won't quit
NCT ID NCT07183748
Summary
This study is testing whether taking very small, non-hallucinogenic doses of psilocybin (the active compound in 'magic mushrooms') alongside therapy can help people with depression that hasn't improved with standard medications or therapy. It will involve 20 adults who will take either the microdose or a placebo for six weeks while receiving therapy, then switch. Researchers will measure changes in depression, stress hormones, and thinking patterns to see if this approach is safe and helpful.
