Magic mushroom therapy tested for brain injury recovery

NCT ID NCT06615908

Summary

This early-stage study is checking if psilocybin (the active compound in 'magic mushrooms'), combined with talk therapy, is safe and might help people who still have symptoms like headaches, dizziness, and mood issues months to years after a concussion. It will involve 40 adults who have had these lasting problems. Participants will receive either a high or low dose of psilocybin in a single session, followed by several weeks of therapy, to see if it reduces their symptom burden.
