Summary
This early study tested whether psilocybin, the active ingredient in magic mushrooms, could be safely given to people with chronic phantom limb pain after an amputation. Ten participants received either psilocybin or a placebo in a supportive setting. The goal was to see if it reduces pain intensity and improves mood and behavior.
