Magic mushrooms take on OCD: new trial tests psilocybin doses

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether psilocybin, the active ingredient in magic mushrooms, can safely help people with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Thirty adults with moderate-to-severe OCD who haven't improved with standard treatments will receive low, medium, or high doses of whole psilocybin mushroom in chocolate. Researchers will track side effects and measure changes in OCD symptoms and quality of life over 12 weeks.
