Magic mushrooms tested as potential breakthrough for meth addiction
NCT ID NCT06899594
Summary
This is a small, early-stage study to see if a single guided dose of psilocybin (the active compound in 'magic mushrooms') is safe and tolerable for people trying to quit methamphetamine. Researchers will recruit 20 people from a treatment center in Louisiana to see if the experience helps reduce drug use, cravings, and improves mood and quality of life. The main goals are to check if people can complete the study and to get a first look at whether it might help them stay off meth.
