Magic Mushrooms' brain rewiring power tested for stubborn depression
NCT ID NCT03554174
Summary
This small, early-stage study from Yale University is investigating whether psilocybin, the active compound in 'magic mushrooms,' can change brain activity in a way that helps treat major depression. The study involves 18 adults with depression who haven't gotten better with standard antidepressants. Researchers will measure changes in brain signals and memory after participants receive either a placebo, a low dose, or a medium dose of psilocybin in controlled sessions.
