First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a single dose of psilocybin (the active ingredient in magic mushrooms) can help people with chronic low back pain become more aware of their body and feel less pain during physical therapy. About 45 adults aged 18-65 with long-lasting back pain will take psilocybin and then track their pain, activity, and disability over 8 weeks. The goal is to see if psilocybin can make physical therapy work better and improve daily life.
