Magic mushroom compound scanned for brain repair in memory loss

NCT ID NCT06041152

Summary

This small, early-stage study is investigating whether psilocybin, the active compound in 'magic mushrooms,' can change connections in the brains of people with early memory loss. Researchers will give either psilocybin or a placebo to 10 participants and use special brain scans to see if it increases the density of these connections. The main goal is to gather knowledge about how psilocybin affects the brain, not to provide a treatment.
