Scientists probe genetic secrets behind superbug's drug resistance

NCT ID NCT07469436

First seen Mar 23, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at 80 samples of a tough bacterium called Pseudomonas aeruginosa that are resistant to many drugs. Researchers will measure the activity of a specific gene (mexB) and check how well the bacteria form protective slime layers (biofilms). The goal is to understand the link between these two factors, which could help develop better treatments in the future.
