First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tested whether a shot of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from a patient's own blood works better than a steroid shot for shoulder arthritis pain. Fifty adults with mild to moderate shoulder osteoarthritis received one of the two injections. Researchers tracked changes in pain, shoulder function, and quality of life over time to see which treatment offered more relief.
