Military study tests natural healing injection against standard steroid shot for shoulder pain
NCT ID NCT05160441
Summary
This study compared two different injection treatments for shoulder arthritis pain. Researchers tested whether platelet-rich plasma (PRP), made from a patient's own blood, works better than standard steroid injections at reducing pain and improving shoulder movement. The trial included 50 military and civilian patients with shoulder arthritis who hadn't improved with standard care. This was a Phase 3 study, meaning it was designed to provide strong evidence about which treatment works better.
