Blood plasma injection trial aims to speed recovery from painful anal condition

NCT ID NCT07248007

Summary

This study is testing whether injecting a concentrated form of a patient's own blood platelets, called platelet-rich plasma (PRP), into the surgical wound can help it heal faster after a common procedure for anal fistula. The goal is to see if this treatment reduces recovery time and pain compared to standard care. Researchers will enroll 70 adults with simple anal fistulas in this early-stage trial.
