First seen Jan 21, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tests if a newer type of radiation called proton therapy is safer than standard X-ray radiation for children aged 6 to 16 with low-grade brain tumors. The goal is to see if proton therapy can control the tumor just as well while causing fewer problems with thinking, hearing, hormones, and overall quality of life. About 94 children will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments and followed for up to 5 years.
