Head-to-Head cancer radiation trial: protons vs. photons
NCT ID NCT01893307
Summary
This study aims to find out if a newer type of radiation called proton beam therapy is better than standard photon therapy for treating throat cancer. It will compare how well each treatment controls the cancer and, importantly, which one causes fewer severe side effects. About 440 patients with stage III-IVB throat cancer will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two treatments.
