Precision proton beams battle standard radiation in liver cancer showdown

Summary
This study compares two types of radiation therapy for patients with liver cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. Researchers want to see if proton therapy, which can target tumors more precisely, helps patients live longer with fewer side effects than standard photon radiation. About 186 adults with specific types of liver cancer will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two radiation treatments.
