New PET tech tracks proton beams in real time for smarter cancer care
NCT ID NCT07450560
First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests a new full-digital PET scanner that watches proton beams as they travel through the body during cancer treatment. The goal is to see exactly where the beam delivers its dose, which could make proton therapy more precise. About 30 adults with solid tumors who are already scheduled for proton therapy will take part. The study does not test a new treatment but aims to improve how doctors monitor and adjust the therapy.
