NCT ID NCT04827732

Summary

This study tested a specialized form of radiation therapy using proton beams for people whose rectal cancer returned in the pelvic area after previous radiation. The main goal was to find the highest safe dose of this new treatment approach. Researchers also measured whether the treatment shrank tumors and monitored its effects on patients' quality of life and side effects.
