New proton combo aims to shrink pancreatic tumors and boost surgery chances

Summary

This study tests whether a higher dose of proton radiation, given alongside oral chemotherapy, can help people with pancreatic cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. The goal is to shrink tumors enough to allow surgery and improve survival. About 60 adults with inoperable or borderline resectable pancreatic cancer will take part.
