Advanced proton therapy trial aims to shrink inoperable pancreatic tumors
NCT ID NCT02598349
Summary
This study tests whether combining proton radiation therapy with oral chemotherapy can help more people with pancreatic cancer become eligible for surgery. It focuses on patients whose tumors are currently considered inoperable or borderline operable. The goal is to shrink tumors enough for surgical removal or to better control the cancer for those who remain inoperable, potentially improving survival.
