Doctors test Live-Tweaking of cancer radiation

NCT ID NCT06310655

Summary

This small pilot study tested whether doctors could safely adjust proton radiation therapy plans in real-time while a patient is on the treatment table. The goal was to see if this 'online adaptive' method is practical and safe for treating solid tumors, as a patient's anatomy can change slightly from day to day. Researchers gathered data from 10 patients to see if this approach could be used in a larger future trial.
