NCT ID NCT01230866

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tests if a shorter course of proton radiation (5 treatments over 1-2 weeks) works as well as the standard longer course (44 treatments over 8-9 weeks) for men with low-risk prostate cancer. About 150 men took part. The goal is to see if the shorter treatment controls the cancer just as well with fewer side effects.
