Targeted radiation study aims to spare kids from harsh side effects

NCT ID NCT02112617

Summary

This study is testing a type of radiation called proton beam therapy for children and young adults with neuroblastoma, a nerve cell cancer. The goal is to see if proton radiation can target the tumor more precisely than standard radiation, potentially reducing damage to nearby healthy organs and causing fewer long-term side effects. Researchers will follow participants for up to five years to track side effects and see how well the cancer is controlled.
