Summary

This study looked at whether adding a protein supplement to a small meal on fasting days helps young men with overweight lose body fat while preserving muscle. Twenty-six men aged 21 to 35 followed a 4-week alternate-day fasting plan. One group ate a small meal with a protein shake, while the other had a regular small meal. Researchers measured changes in weight, body fat, muscle mass, blood sugar, and blood pressure.
