Summary
This study looked at whether extra protein (from whey, plant-based protein, or protein-rich foods) can lessen muscle damage caused by long-distance walking in active adults aged 60 and older. 199 participants took one of three protein strategies or a carbohydrate drink for five weeks, and walked 30-50 km. Researchers measured muscle damage through blood tests and soreness reports.
