First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving extremely preterm babies (born at 28 weeks or earlier) breast milk with extra protein during their first two weeks of life helps them gain more lean muscle and develop a healthier mix of gut bacteria. About 150 infants will be enrolled and followed until they reach their original due date. The goal is to improve growth and long-term health outcomes for these vulnerable newborns.
