First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looked at whether adding extra protein to the diet helps older adults recover from muscle damage caused by exercise. 199 active adults aged 60 and older who could walk 30-50 km per day took part. They used different protein supplements or a carbohydrate drink for 5 weeks and completed long walks. Researchers measured muscle damage through blood tests and soreness reports.
