First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looked at whether adding a protein supplement to a small meal on fasting days could help young men with overweight lose body fat while keeping their muscle. Twenty-six men aged 21-35 followed a 4-week alternate-day fasting plan. Some received a protein drink on fasting days, while others ate a regular small meal. Researchers measured changes in weight, body fat, muscle mass, blood sugar, and blood pressure.
