New program aims to stop repeat dental surgeries in young children

Summary

This study tests a 6-month program called PROTECT for caregivers of young children who had dental surgery. The program provides parenting tools and support from community health workers to improve tooth brushing and reduce sugar intake. The goal is to prevent future cavities and the need for more surgeries. About 420 caregivers and their children will take part.
