New surgical technique aims to stop leaks after prostate removal

NCT ID NCT04981834

Summary

This study compares two versions of robotic prostate cancer surgery to see if adding a bladder-supporting stitch helps men regain bladder control faster. About 200 men with early-stage prostate cancer will be randomly assigned to receive the standard surgery or the surgery with the extra stitch. Researchers will track how quickly patients stop needing protective pads and how their quality of life is affected after the operation.
