New combo therapy targets returning prostate cancer and hidden spread
NCT ID NCT05230251
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study tested a new approach for men whose prostate cancer came back after initial radiation treatment. It combined a local treatment (brachytherapy) with a targeted radioactive drug (177Lu-PSMA) to attack cancer cells both in the prostate and elsewhere in the body. Only 3 men took part, and the main goal was to see if the combination was safe and feasible. The hope is that this dual approach could better control the disease and prevent it from spreading.
