New attack on spreading prostate cancer: can zapping the original tumor boost survival?

NCT ID NCT05649943

Summary

This study is for men whose prostate cancer has spread to a few other spots in the body but is still sensitive to hormone-blocking drugs. It aims to see if adding a direct treatment to the prostate itself—like surgery or radiation—on top of standard drug therapy is better at keeping the cancer in check for longer. About 566 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either just the drug therapy or the drug therapy plus one of these local treatments after six months.
