Double-Drug attack before prostate surgery shows promise in cancer trial

NCT ID NCT06627530

First seen Feb 12, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving a combination of two drugs (leuprorelin and darolutamide) before prostate removal surgery can shrink tumors more effectively than either drug alone. It involves 144 men with intermediate to high-risk prostate cancer who will receive one or both drugs for 24 weeks before surgery. The main goal is to see if the combination leads to less cancer remaining in the surgical specimen.
