Gene + MRI combo may spot deadly prostate cancer before it spreads
NCT ID NCT06398639
First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study is testing a new way to screen for dangerous prostate cancer. It combines a person's genetic risk score with a special MRI to find higher-grade cancers that could be life-threatening. About 1,500 men aged 40-69 with no prior prostate cancer will get a PSA blood test, an MRI, and their genetic risk results. The goal is to see if this approach works better than current methods and to learn at what age MRI screening becomes useful.
