Five treatments vs. Forty-Four: race to find faster prostate cancer therapy

NCT ID NCT01230866

Summary

This study is testing whether a much shorter radiation schedule works as well as the standard longer one for low-risk prostate cancer. Men in the study are randomly assigned to receive either 44 treatments over about 9 weeks or just 5 treatments over 1-2 weeks. Researchers will compare cancer control and side effects between the two approaches to see if the shorter schedule is a safe and effective option.
