Balloon implant protects rectum during prostate cancer radiation

NCT ID NCT05354427

Summary

This study looked at whether implantable spacers can safely protect the rectum during radiation treatment for prostate cancer. Researchers examined medical records from 175 men who had already received this treatment. They measured how much the spacer reduced radiation exposure to the rectum compared to what would have been delivered without it.
