Precision proton beams target prostate cancer in fewer treatments

NCT ID NCT01950351

Summary

This study is testing a shorter, more intense schedule of proton beam radiation for men with early-stage prostate cancer that hasn't spread. The main goal is to see if this approach effectively controls the cancer while causing fewer long-term side effects, particularly to the digestive system. Researchers will closely track side effects, cancer recurrence, and patients' quality of life for five years after treatment.
