New MRI study could change how men with prostate cancer are watched

NCT ID NCT04692675

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looks at whether advanced MRI scans can better track prostate cancer in men who choose active surveillance (no immediate treatment). About 500 men with low- or intermediate-risk prostate cancer will get regular MRIs alongside standard tests like PSA blood tests and biopsies. The goal is to see if MRI can catch cancer progression earlier and possibly reduce the need for frequent biopsies.
