Glowing dye lights up prostate cancer for surgeons

NCT ID NCT05946603

Summary

This study tested a special fluorescent dye called IS-002 to see if it helps surgeons better identify prostate cancer tissue during robotic surgery. The dye is designed to make cancer cells glow under special imaging, potentially allowing for more complete tumor removal. The main goal was to see if using this dye resulted in fewer cancer cells being left behind at the surgical margins compared to standard surgery.
