New ultrasound tech challenges MRI for prostate cancer detection

NCT ID NCT05220501

Summary

This study tested whether a new, high-resolution ultrasound technology is as good as or better than the standard MRI method for guiding prostate biopsies. It involved 804 men who needed a biopsy due to elevated PSA levels or an abnormal exam. Researchers compared how well each imaging method helped doctors find clinically significant prostate cancer.
