First seen Feb 24, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding a propolis (a bee product) mouth care routine could prevent or reduce mouth sores in 60 adults with COPD in the intensive care unit. Half received standard mouth care plus propolis for 15 days, while the other half received standard care alone. Researchers checked their mouths on days 1, 7, and 15 to see if propolis helped.
