Bee product tested to fight painful mouth sores in ICU patients
NCT ID NCT07426198
Summary
This study tested whether adding propolis, a natural substance from bees, to standard mouth care could prevent painful mouth sores (oral mucositis) in patients with COPD who were being treated in intensive care. Sixty COPD patients were divided into two groups: one received the propolis mouth care for 15 days, while the other received standard care only. Researchers checked the patients' mouths on days 1, 7, and 15 to see if the propolis treatment made a difference.
