Bee product tested as gum disease fighter in young adults
NCT ID NCT06888453
Summary
This study tested whether lozenges containing propolis, a natural resin from bees, could help control gum inflammation and plaque buildup over one week. It involved 100 young adults (ages 19-24) with moderate gum inflammation. Half used the propolis lozenges twice daily along with standard oral hygiene instructions, while the other half received hygiene instructions only, to compare the effects.
