Face-Down or Face-Up? study tests best position for sick infants

NCT ID NCT07170085

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at whether placing infants with severe breathing infections (like RSV) on their stomach (prone) helps them breathe better than lying on their back (supine). Forty babies under 1 year old on breathing support will spend one hour in each position while nurses measure their breathing. The goal is to see if a simple position change can ease symptoms and improve oxygen levels.
