First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study compares two ways of delivering prolonged exposure therapy for PTSD in veterans: standard therapy versus therapy with a companion smartphone app called PE Coach. About 124 veterans with PTSD will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups. Researchers want to see if the app helps improve daily functioning, reduce symptoms, and encourage more homework completion.
