Tracking the Gut's long road to recovery after rectal cancer

NCT ID NCT07339904

Summary

This study aims to understand the long-term bowel problems that can occur after surgery for rectal cancer, a condition known as Low Anterior Resection Syndrome (LARS). Researchers will follow 100 patients for two years after their surgery, using questionnaires to track how their bowel function changes over time. The goal is to identify which patients are most at risk for severe symptoms, which can help doctors better prepare and counsel patients before surgery.
