Intensive PTSD therapy may cut substance use in new trial

Summary

This study tests whether a fast-paced PTSD therapy (Massed Prolonged Exposure) can reduce PTSD symptoms and substance use in adults already getting treatment for substance use disorder. About 168 participants will either receive the intensive therapy or standard care, and be followed for 6 months. The goal is to see if this approach leads to better mental health and less substance use.
